PSA Training in Central Kentucky

Komrad being caught by a PSA decoy during a trial

What is PSA?

The Protection Sports Association (PSA) is a competitive dog sport that tests real-world obedience and protection skills through challenging scenarios and decoy interactions. Unlike traditional obedience trials, PSA showcases a dog’s control, drive, and courage in unpredictable environments. At Bluegrass Working Dog Club, we help handlers and dogs of all breeds prepare for PSA titles through structured, relationship-based training. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or just curious about protection sports, our PSA program in Richmond, KY welcomes you to join the journey.

About Bluegrass WDC

Founded by passionate trainers and competitors, our mission is to provide a supportive, driven environment for handlers who want to push the limits of real-world obedience and controlled protection work. Club Progress & Titles

At Bluegrass Working Dog Club, we don’t just train — we compete.

Our club founder has titled her American Bully, Komrad, with a PSA1 after earning the PDC.
Another member is currently preparing for their PSA1.

Several additional teams are on track to hit the trial field this fall for their PDC debut.

We’re proud to support working teams of all breeds as they grow through the sport!

Who Can Join?

Our club welcomes handlers of all experience levels who are committed to learning, consistency, and ethical training. Whether you’re brand new to PSA or transitioning from other dog sports, you’ll find a place here — as long as you’re coachable, open to feedback, and ready to put in the work. Dogs must be safe and manageable around other dogs and people; all new members will go through a short evaluation to ensure safety and fit.
